4.      Definitely, creepy and to the beat, flashy

5.      Yes because the video is surreal and dark, also the performance aspects fits very well

7.      Yes, includes the typical conventions of heavy metal e.g. performance, dark, creepy narrative

·        What did you think worked better the performance or narrative?

1.      Performance, because the narrative wasn’t always clear

2.      Both, I think they worked well together and the narrative was very clear

3.      Performance, because it’s typical of the genre

4.      Narrative, the performance seemed slightly out of sync

5.      Performance

6.      Narrative, very clear and use of different characters was interesting and clear to watch

7.      Narrative, thought it was more interesting but did think the performance worked well as well

·        What elements did you feel worked the best to compliment the genre and its conventions?

1.      The woods as the setting

2.      The effects such as the echo added an edge to work well with the genre

3.      The performance in the woods

6.      The use of editing and mise-en-scene for narrative characters – very effective

7.      The band performance, typical in heavy metal videos to have the band perform

·        Are there any elements you feel didn’t work very well or could be improved upon?

1.      Some of the performance was out of time and didn’t match up (only on a few occasions though)

2.      None – only one part when the lip syncing was out

3.      The narrative wasn’t very clear, but that added to the atmosphere

4.      Just the lip-synching

5.      More angles could be used on the performance and the syncing of music to performance was tiny bit out

6.      The sunlight – could’ve been edited to be darker or portrayed as more ‘gloomy’ to compliment the supernatural dark element further

7.      No, all seemed to work really well
